I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Germanic Studies and East Asian Language and Cultures from Indiana University Bloomington. I also hold a Master's in International Relations from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. In between, I was a Fulbright grantee to Germany. I served as one of the Assistant Directors of Admission at Purdue University from 2022 to 2025, working primarily on the International recruitment team. During my tenure on Purdue's admissions team, I worked with countless students from around the world. I directly recruited in close to 30 countries, and I had the pleasure of reviewing applications from many more countries. While abroad, I worked to serve Purdue and further the mission of global education, supporting students no matter where they intended to call home, regardless of if they joined us at Purdue or not. I conducted application review activities, lead application review teams, trained others in international application review and credential evaluation, and regularly spoke to students about their college journey.

I approach college advising as equal parts coach and cheerleader. The college application process represents one of the greatest decisions many students have made in their lives! I believe it is important to celebrate the college application process and the milestones that students accomplish while still respecting the stress that this process places on students. I have been the English Department Chair at a boarding school in New England for the last 22 years. I teach various high school level English classes, including AP Literature and AP Research, coach and advise many students each year on their college application process. I am a former college athlete (track and field) and I also enjoy working with students who hope to play athletics at the collegiate level. I am an academic advisor to several students each year, coordinating their coursework and communicating with their families on any academic, social or emotional needs. I love working with young students who are motivated and wish to achieve, and I have extensive experience working with students on successful college essays and supplements. I know what top level colleges are looking for, as I was also a former alumni interviewer for the admissions department at my alma mater for many years. My current school is quite global--we have students from all over the world--so I am very fond of working with international students who wish to study in the US. I am an avid traveler, an avid reader, and I love to hike, play tennis and pickleball. However, my proudest achievement has been raising my three children and seeing them off to various top level colleges.

Harvard University

Cristina Slattery applied to and was accepted at three institutions for her undergraduate education: Harvard, Stanford, and Middlebury. She attended Harvard AIɫɫ and graduated with honors in her field in Social Studies (international relations). She later earned a master's in English from Middlebury AIɫɫ's Bread Loaf School of English and a master's in Teaching from Fordham University's School of Education. She has worked with international students from the Middle East and China who have applied to competitive U.S. and U.K. universities and graduate programs and who have been accepted by many of these programs. She enjoys working with students and has also taught English both in the U.S. and in Spain. She is currently working on a fantasy novel for kids ages 10-12 and hopes to see it published soon!
