Hello, my name is Kyana Brubaker, and I graduated from Johns Hopkins University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Visual Arts. While at Hopkins, I was involved in clinical research, was the vice president of the all-female a cappella group on campus and was a math tutor. I also served as a first-year mentor for two years in which I supported a total of 33 freshmen throughout orientation and their first year at Hopkins. I was also an advising fellow for two and a half years with Matriculate, a non-profit organization, where I supported 5 high school students with their college applications. In these roles, I nurtured a passion for supporting students at various levels of their college experience. Now, as a nursing student, I have gained an even deeper appreciation for how valuable supportive mentors can be. Having applied to both college and nursing school without much outside support, I understand how overwhelming and confusing the application process can be. I am also a member of the Essay Review Team with AIɫɫAdvisor, which has given me more experience with reading and editing essays - one of my favorite components of the application process. I look forward to guiding and supporting students as they navigate this process!
University of California – Santa Barbara
Over the last decade, I have served students in various capacities in the K - 16 system. I work professionally to support students to and through college degree completion.
As an experienced application and essay reader, I have supported students to successful admission and matriculation to various T-20 institutions and into their dream school. When students work with me, they get an advisor who wants to know them as a whole person, someone who cares deeply about their well-being and future, and support both during our time together and outside to ensure they are as well prepared and informed as possible.
Some of my interests are photography, reading, writing, and building wealth through investing.
I graduated from Yale in 2019 with a degree in Psychology and am passionate about education. After graduating, I worked in both renewables and education before going back to school to pursue a Master of Management at Duke University. I specialize in writing and helping students create a consistent and coherent narrative to effectively share their story through their application.

I am an experienced college advisor and retired NYC DOE History and Economics teacher. Working with students to further their education is a passion of mine; my goal is to help make you a confident successful applicant. I am not as "result" driven as "success" driven; I am most interested in helping you with a detailed and calm application process with a roadmap to completion. This application process, and your college education itself, is one wonderful step to independent living and I hope to support you and your family with this. I can help with organization and timelines, love to make essay suggestions, am very familiar with all types of colleges, majors, and student learning styles. Financial aid is a big topic, and I can help you sort it out step by step. I also have a very flexible schedule and generally am available within a few hours. I look forward to working with each family.

I studied psychology and neuroscience at Carnegie Mellon University, later graduating from Harvard Law School. I am passionate about helping young people discover their passions, pursue their dreams, and tell their stories. As an attorney, I do this by helping young folks who have experienced foster care tell their stories in court and find growth opportunities. As a AIɫɫ Advisor, I do this by supporting families as they navigate the complex college application process. I work with students to help them develop their personal "brand," and then convincingly tell their stories to admissions committees. I have been helping students apply to college for years and am motivated by their hard work, determination, and persistence.
